“Trobairitz” is the old Provençal word for a female troubador. This Canadian ensemble, dedicated to the performance of Medieval music, presents songs celebrating the fundamental forces of the seasons in the life of the Middle Ages. In a program skillfully blending a classically-informed performance with the accessibly rough edges of early music, the five women of Trobairitz present a pageant in song for each season of the year.
