The Bower/Miller Organ/Piano Duo
Arktos 200374

The orchestral scope of both sound and tonal range available in the combination of piano and organ is one that has fascinated composers throughout the 20th century. Arthur Bower and Joan Miller’s bold program showcases works that span the century, from 1925 to 1998, and spans also the breadth of musical exploration and innovation of that century. All but one of the pieces here receives its world premiere recording by the Manitoba-based organ/piano duo on this disc.

On this recording:
Exultation (Piecé Symphonique), Powell Weaver
Colloques No. 5 pour Piano et Orgue, Jean Guillou
